We love you all. We love being in Watchung, but…

Today we are announcing that American Bean Coffee is temporarily closing at our current location on December 23rd, 2022.

While the shop you know is closing, you can still order our exclusive signature pre-packaged roasts: Washington Rock, Dark Velvet, and Milestones online at Americanbeancoffee.com.

This closure of our current location is merely temporary while we identify a new better-suited venue in this area to enhance your customer experience and for our community. (Perhaps even a drive-thru…)

This is not the end it’s a new, better beginning for everyone…

We will continue to keep the public updated with American Bean Coffee’s plans to reopen via social media and our website.

Until then, thank you everyone for supporting American Bean Coffee, our families, and our staff. Stay safe and we will see you in 2021.

With great excitement, we are happy to announce that American Bean Coffee in Watchung is re-opening indoor dining on Friday, September 4th.

As we deal with the current reality of living in a society with COVID-19, we will adhere to strict guidelines ton ensure everyone’s safety.

American Bean Coffee Indoor Dining Guidelines

• Masks are to be worn as you enter the building and at all times when not seated.
• If your party includes small children they must wear a mask when not seated.
• At this time, we are prepared to accommodate parties of four or less. (If you require a table for a party for over four guests, please contact a manager upon arrival, and if possible, we will set up safe seating for your party.)
• If indoor seating is at capacity, management reserves the right to put a 90 minute time cap on seating.
• Indoor dining is available on a first come first serve basis.

Ok, now that all that was said…

We are excited to host our customers indoors for the first time since we re-launched the coffee shop under the new American Bean Coffee brand. As some customers have noticed, we strive to bring you a unique coffee experience — one you would come to expect from your neighbors and fellow residents of Watchung, Warren, and Long Hill Township.

We are proud to a part of the community, and ready to welcome you inside.

We are so happy to announce that you can buy coffee online from American Bean Coffee – Our new store is live and open for business.

Our roasting partners work with farmers and importers committed to ethically sustaining the coffee supply chain around the world. American Bean Coffee is committed to 100% sustainable product.

From farms to roaster to your home, we provide you with the same great coffee that you are accustomed to at our American Bean Coffee retail location.

Our Dark Velvet & Washington Rock Roasts are in stock, and we plan on releasing our new light-blend Milestones mid-July.

Welcome to the new American Bean Coffee site! We wanted to take a moment and thank everyone in our community for rallying around Cupa Cafe through these trying times. So, now that the cat is out of the bag, and American Bean Coffee is opening on June 8, 2020 (with take-out options as mandated.)

The name may be new, but we are the same people you’ve come to know.

First off, when you come to American Bean Coffee you will see all the familiar faces as always. Our staff is committed to the same quality that you have known to come and love.

When acquired Cupa Cafe in November 2019, the new ownership group knew we had to make certain changes. We started small with menu and kitchen items and were overwhelmed by the positive response. From there as momentum was building, we identified more opportunities to better embrace the coffee culture and the rich history of Watchung Hills.

On March 16, 2020 amidst concerns for our guests and staff we opted to close doors as the COVID-19 pandemic spread. It was a difficult decision, but we knew we were doing the right thing for the community. No cup of coffee or sandwich is worth putting anyone’s health in jepeordy.

Our voluntary closure allowed us to re-evaluate the business, it’s position in the community and collectively what we wanted to build. American Bean Coffee was born.

We feel the name American Bean Coffee better represents who we serve, who we are, and the future. We hope you embrace the new brand just as you embraced Cupa Cafe.
